What is Calcium Chloride, It would be a chemical compound with the formulation of CaCl2 that Would be one Calcium Cation and two Chlorine.

This product of PETRO-ACC appearance would be white color and granular form.

CaCl2 consists of Calcium and Chloride that is mostly companied with two water molecular (CaCl2 × H2O).

This combination strongly absorb water and moisture and is well known as dehumidifying (dehumidifier), because of this feature CaCl2 should keep in Anti-moisture and Vacuumed bags.

Calcium Chloride without water, molecular weight (Molar Mass) would be 110.98 g/mol, anhydrous.

CaCl2 would be soluble in water and also is a good source of Calcium because these good characteristics easily will replace with another Cation in the chemical reaction (substitution reactions).

An important characteristic of CaCl2 would be Heat releasing while dissolving in water, which is related to the high enthalpy of dissolution of CaCl2.

Calcium Chloride would be classified into Industrial Grade and Food Grade:

Industrial grade CaCl2 will use in the following industries:

– In drilling oil and petrochemical wells

– In production metal soup and pigments

– In cooling and dehumidifying industries

– In production glycerol

– In the concrete (Beton) industry manufacture of precast concrete

– In swimming pools and aquariums.

– In the wastewater treatment industry

– In the plastic production industry

– In production Calcium salts

– Used as antifreeze and reducer of the freezing point of a water-based liquid.

– To control and stabilization of soil and dust in roads and deserts

Calcium Chloride Food Grade will use as follow:

-In the foods industry as an additives

-In the pharma industry (pharmaceutical industry) in treat burns and poisonings

-In the animal feed (livestock and poultry feed) industry

Calcium Chloride Storage Conditions:

The most important characteristic of Calcium Chloride would be the high absorption of moisture, due to this feature CaCl2 should be packed in anti-water and moisture-proof (anti-moisture and anti-air) bags and should keep in a dry environment. CaCl2 should be stored below 30 ° C.

In handling should be careful because CaClmight cause skin irritation and possible burns, especially if the skin is wet or moist.
